Terms of service
CubeDojo for iPhone, iPad and Android, and the website cubedojo.app. Last updated: 19 October 2026.
The short version. CubeDojo is free, with ads that never interrupt practice. On the phone you use it with an account, signing in with Apple, with Google or with your email and a password; on the website the account is optional. Your account keeps your times and progress in step across your devices, and you can delete it whenever you like. “No ads” is an optional one-time purchase made through the App Store or Google Play, which handle the payment and refunds. Use CubeDojo and its suggestions chat fairly: abusing the chat on purpose may lead to the suspension of your account. CubeDojo is not affiliated with the World Cube Association, and times recorded in it are not official results. Nothing here takes away the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
Who we are
CubeDojo is made by Javier Rubio Roca, an individual developer in Spain (“we”). You can reach us at support@cubedojo.app. These terms are an agreement between you and us for the CubeDojo app and the website cubedojo.app. By using either, you accept them; if you do not agree, please do not use them.
Your licence to use the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use CubeDojo on the devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. The app is licensed to you, not sold. If you got it from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies, and these terms add to it; if you got it from Google Play, Google Play’s terms of service also apply. Apple and Google are not responsible for the app or its support; we are.
You may not copy, sell, rent or redistribute the app or its content, remove its notices, or reverse engineer it, except where the law allows you to do so regardless of these terms. Parts of the app are open-source software under their own licences, which this licence does not restrict.
Your account
- Signing in. The app on iPhone, iPad and Android needs a CubeDojo account, which you create by signing in with Apple or Google, or with your email address and a password; the website works without one. There is one account per person, and it is yours alone: do not share it or use someone else’s.
- Age. You must be at least 13 to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need your parent or guardian’s permission, and they accept these terms for you.
- Keeping it safe. If you sign in with Apple or Google, your account is as safe as that Apple ID or Google account, so protect it. If you use a password, choose one you use nowhere else and keep it to yourself, and keep access to the email address of your account: that is where we send the codes to reset the password and to confirm important steps. We may refuse a password known to have leaked, and ask you to confirm it is you, with your password or a code we email you, before a sensitive step such as deleting the account; changing or resetting the password signs you out on your other devices. Tell us at once if you think someone else is using your account.
- Your data. What you do is saved on your device and synced with your account on our server, as the privacy policy explains. It is yours: you can delete your account, and everything in it, whenever you like (Delete your account). Files you import, including those from other timers, are yours too, and you are responsible for having the right to use them. We back up our server and take care of your data, but no service can promise it will never be lost.
Free, with ads
CubeDojo is free to download and use. The free version shows ads: discreet banners on calm screens and, on the phone, at most one full-screen ad a day, never in the timer, inspection, a drill, a review, a lesson or the solver. How ads use data, and how you can change your choices, is explained in the privacy policy.
“No ads”
- What it is. A one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that removes every ad from the app. Nothing else in the app is locked behind it. It is not a subscription: there is nothing to renew or cancel.
- How you buy it. Through the App Store or Google Play, at the price the store shows you before you confirm, taxes included where the store includes them. The store takes the payment under its own terms; we never see your payment details.
- Refunds and withdrawal. Refunds, and any right of withdrawal you have under the law of your country, are handled by Apple or Google under their terms: ask them through their usual channels. If you have trouble, write to us and we will help as far as we can.
- Restoring it. The purchase belongs to the Apple ID or Google account you bought it with, not to your CubeDojo account. You can restore it on other devices signed in to that store account, from Settings → No ads → Restore purchases. On the App Store it can be shared through Family Sharing.
- The website. There is nothing to buy on cubedojo.app today, and the purchase does not remove the banners there.
The suggestions assistant
Signed in, you can send ideas and report problems through a chat with an AI assistant. It is there only for that: it helps you explain what you want or what went wrong, and writes a summary for you to send.
- Its replies are written by an AI model. They can be incomplete or wrong, they are not advice, and they are not a promise: that the assistant understands an idea does not mean it will be built, or when.
- Limits. You can have up to 3 items open at a time, send up to 8 messages in each conversation and start up to 5 conversations a day. Anything that is not an idea or a problem with CubeDojo is politely turned away, and it counts.
- What you send. Send only what is yours to share, and no personal or sensitive information about yourself or others. You let us use what you send to improve CubeDojo, without owing you anything for it.
Acceptable use
Use CubeDojo, your account, the website and the suggestions chat fairly. In particular, do not:
- try to break, overload or get around the security or the limits of the app, the website or our server, or access what is not yours;
- use bots, scripts or other automated means to create accounts, sync, collect content in bulk or talk to the assistant;
- use the suggestions chat for anything other than ideas and problem reports about CubeDojo: to flood it, to try to make the assistant ignore its instructions or say something it should not, or to send content that is unlawful, offensive, threatening or harassing, or that infringes someone else’s rights;
- pretend to be someone else, or present CubeDojo’s content as your own.
Abusing the suggestions chat with intent to abuse it may lead to the suspension of your account.
Suspension and closing your account
If you break these terms we may suspend your account, starting with what the breach concerns (a suspension for abusing the suggestions chat stops you from sending suggestions and reports), and for serious or repeated breaches we may close it. Unless the law or an urgent risk prevents it, we will tell you why, and you can reply to support@cubedojo.app if you think we got it wrong: we will look at it again. If we close your account, you can ask us for a copy of your data first. You can stop using CubeDojo and delete your account at any time.
Our content, and the WCA
The app, its lessons, explanations, diagrams, animations, design and the CubeDojo name and logo belong to us or to those who licensed them to us. Algorithms are credited to their authors where they are known. You may share screenshots and your own times freely.
CubeDojo is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the World Cube Association. Scrambles follow the WCA Regulations for random-state and random-move events, but CubeDojo is not an official scrambling program, and times recorded in it are not official results.
Using the website
You may browse cubedojo.app and link to it freely. Do not try to disrupt it, to access what is not public, to collect its content in bulk by automated means, or to present its content as your own.
Game Center and Google Play Games
If you use Game Center or Google Play Games, CubeDojo shows your achievements there too. Those services belong to Apple and Google and their own terms apply to them.
Availability and changes
CubeDojo is offered wherever the App Store and Google Play make it available. We keep improving it, so features may change, be added or be removed. The service may sometimes be unavailable, for example for maintenance; the app keeps working offline and syncs when it is back. We may stop offering the app, the website or the accounts; if we do, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance, so you can export your times.
Liability
We make CubeDojo carefully, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties beyond those the law requires. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for what the assistant’s replies say, or for the content of sites we link to. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intent or gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change we will update this page and its date, and the app will tell you about any important change before it applies. If you keep using CubeDojo after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree with them, you can stop using it and delete your account at any time.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim before the courts of that country or of Spain. Before going to court, please write to us: most problems can be solved by email.
